Is it a good enough approach to the divine?

I wonder why people need a religion to be infallible, perfect, or best. Nothing in this world is infallible, least of all humans. Why ask that the social systems we create be infallible? To protect us from harm? Nothing can protect us from harm. Harm is part of life. Rather, a practice that provides us with resilience, and encourages us to discard self-destructive and other-destructive behavior, that is useful. Buddhism attempts to do this. Where it fails in gender-based abuse is a reflection of the cultural biases of the people expressing or using that practice.

Why ask that the social systems we create be infallible? So that by proxy, you, the participant, are infallible? Oh, oh, I’m sorry, I’ll let you go back to sleep.
